I am Erna Almansouri, a Tamazight woman from Zuwara, Libya. I hold a law degree and am also pursuing studies in the Tamazight Language Department at the University of Zawiya – College of Education, Zwara.

My activism began through volunteering to teach the Tamazight language to children, addressing the shortage of qualified educators. I later joined the Tafat Foundation, a local organisation focused on youth empowerment, education, and media.

I also became a founding member of the Zuwara Youth Centre in partnership with GIZ, contributing to community-building and youth development initiatives.

Over the years, I’ve taken on several leadership roles in my hometown and engaged in efforts that promote justice, inclusion, and youth participation. As a member of both the indigenous community and the youth in Libya, I’m committed to reaching marginalised and vulnerable groups and helping amplify their voices across the country.

We might be broken, but we will never give up.
