Each year, the One World Media Awards celebrates the finest journalism and documentary filmmaking from across the Global South. For the 2025 Awards, 559 entries were received from over 100 countries. The judges have spent countless hours reviewing powerful and thought-provoking stories — ones that challenge stereotypes, reshape narratives, and build connections across borders. They showcase stories of people across the globe, from Afghanistan and Argentina to China, Fiji, India, Gaza, Myanmar, Nigeria, Sweden, Yemen — and so many more.
