 The EU-funded Support Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development South (ENPARD South) is holding a seminar on 2 December to launch its second phase in Morocco.

The first meetings and discussions in the framework of ENPARD South II in Morocco have helped to highlight a number of topics identified as priorities by the main actors, with two axes emerging – knowledge (teaching, training and research) and sustainability.

The selected themes were clustered into three groups:
1) Development of rural areas and governance;
2) Professional organisations and support to stakeholders;
3) Agro-systems and value chains: development and marketing.

ENPARD has been designed to support the EU’s Southern Neighbourhood countries in their agricultural and rural development. The initiative aims to support the formulation and implementation of renewed public policies in order to meet the challenges of food security, diversification of rural economies and governance in agriculture and management of rural areas.
