The EU-funded OPEN Media Hub programme is organising a Master Class in media management for Print and Online Media and one for Broadcast Media from Algeria on 11 and 12 April in Algiers.

The Master Class for Print and Online Media is designed for managers and senior editors of print and online media from Morocco and will focus on issues such as:

  • Strategies for survival and development of print and online media in a digital world;
  • Challenges and trends in multi-platform journalism;
  • Integrated newsrooms;
  • Editorial and overall organisational management.

The Master Class for Broadcast Media will have a special focus on management and development of broadcast media in the digital age. It will cover news management and transformation, the digital revolution, reputation management and positioning, editorial integrity, multi-platform content, giving broadcasters the trade skills they need to expand their audiences across converged platforms.

The OPEN Media Hub project, funded under the OPEN Neighbourhood Programme, aims at creating a virtual media hub spanning the two regions, in order to contribute to the development of independent media and to a more accurate presentation of EU policies in the Neighbourhood regions, through the creation of a network of journalists. The OPEN Media Hub will provide skills to journalists and media managers through the fostering of professional networks, the provision of hands-on workshops, of journalist exchanges and support to audio-visual and online production.
