The second edition of the regional visibility seminar of the EU-funded Support Programme Youth Employment (PAJE) took place early this month in Oran, Algeria.

PAJE’s main objective is to support the action and reforms of the Algerian government in terms of national policies for youth. Since 2015, PAJE has created 130 companies which have recruited more than 500 young people in wealth-producing and value-added activities. The project is carried out in the pilot provinces of Khenchela, Annaba, Béchar and Oran.

PAJE programme is the result of a co-financing convention signed between Algeria and the European Union in December 2012 for a budget of €26 million (€23.5 million for the European part and €2.5 million for the Algerian part).
