As part of the European SPHERE (Support to Higher Education Reform Experts) initiative, funded by the European Union and aimed at supporting higher education reforms in the 23 European Neighborhood countries, SPHERE, the Erasmus+ Morocco National Office, the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation, and the International University of Rabat (UIR), organized an international seminar entitled: “The End of Diplomas? Micro-credentials, Skills, and Employability.” This event will be held on Monday, June 2 and Tuesday, June 3, 2025, starting at 8:30 a.m., on the campus of the International University of Rabat.

This high-level seminar brought together approximately 60 international experts on higher education reforms from Europe and its partner regions: the Eastern Partnership, Central Asia, the Western Balkans, and the Southern Mediterranean. Representatives from ministries of higher education, universities, students, and the private sector will also be present. This is the first time an event of this magnitude has been organized in the Southern Mediterranean region. The choice of Morocco reflects its strong commitment to transforming its higher education system, as well as the growing attractiveness of its institutions and initiatives in the field of educational innovation.
