The exhibition is the outcome of the week-long Euro-Jordanian-Arab Artists Symposium titled “Art & Dialogue”, held from 16 to 21 May 2025. The symposium was organized by the Jordan National Gallery with the support of the Delegation of the European Union to Jordan and the European Union National Institutes for Culture in Jordan (EUNIC Jordan). It took place at the Wijdan Art Space / The Jordan National Gallery and brought together artists from Austria, Germany, Greece, France, the Netherlands, Jordan, Syria, and Iraq for a unique cultural exchange.

A highlight of the week was a roundtable held on Tuesday, 20 May, titled “The Role of Art in Times of War and Crisis.” Moderated by Dr. Khalid Khreis, Director General of the National Gallery, the session allowed all participating artists to explain their vision and their take from this teamwork, and more generally discuss the power of artistic expression during times of societal and humanitarian upheaval.

“Arts and culture are an integral part of the relations between Jordan and the European Union. This symposium is a reminder that art transcends borders and fosters people to people dialogue” said H.E. Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas, Ambassador of the European Union to Jordan.
