The Cinéma Jet festival opens its first stop in Tabarka from September 12th to 21st. A city of mountains, sea, and coral, Tabarka provides the ideal setting for this unique cultural event. Screenings, meetings, workshops, and concerts will enliven Jazira Square, a stone’s throw from the beach, to explore the links between cinema, the environment, and climate change.
A traveling cultural initiative, Cinéma Jet brings the seventh art closer to the public, transforming cities, villages, forests, and oases into living screens. True to the motto of its partner Cinématdour—”Cinema comes to you, wherever you are”—the festival extends beyond traditional theaters to create spaces for creativity and dialogue open to all.
In just one year, the project has reached more than 35,000 people through concrete initiatives and ongoing monitoring, particularly in working-class neighborhoods. Supported by the European Union in Tunisia, Cinéma Jet aims to travel across the entire country, from north to south, using cinema as a bridge between regions and a catalyst for reflection on the environment, youth, equality, and local development.
All activities during the first week in Tabarka are free and open to the public.
