The national meeting to support the preparation of the annual cybercrime and e-evidence situation report in Jordan was organized online on 9 February and aimed to assess the progress made since the regional workshop held in Rabat in April 2019.

The workshop was an opportunity for the Jordanian authorities to express their views on the cybercrime situation in the country, by emphasizing the legal and technical tools for conducting investigations and collecting e-evidence, as well as the developments on the cybercrime policies and strategies. The experts underlined the importance of having a National Cyber Security Strategy with mechanisms to tackle cybercrime. The relevance of the annual situation report on cyber threats was discussed in depth and recommendations were put forward in relation to its structure and contributors.

Representatives from the Jordanian Armed Forces, Public Security Department, Ministry of Justice, and Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship actively participated in the event and emphasized the progress achieved in legislation, institutional developments, and judicial training.
