TunisiaDouar Hicher will soon welcome its open-air theater with the support of the Fe3il.a project.
With the official signing of the agreement for the “Development of an Open-Air Theater” pilot project, we are celebrating much more than an architectural breakthrough: it is the result of an inclusive participatory process, designed with and for young people. Co-developed with the Douar Hicher Youth Forum and the Multi-Sectoral Youth Inclusion Platform, this project, stemming from the Youth and Gender-Sensitive Local Development Plan, illustrates the power of co-construction for a lasting impact.
This open-air theater will be a space for meeting, expression, and creativity, incorporating infrastructure designed to ensure accessibility, safety, and sustainability:
A stage open to all
A welcoming spectator area
Functional dressing rooms
Harmonious outdoor design
Douar Hicher is one of the eight partner municipalities of the Fe3il.a project, demonstrating that young people, when involved, shape sustainable solutions for their community.
The project “Fe3il.a – Youth policy participation of young people in public policies in Tunisia” is implemented by CILG-VNG International in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, with the financial support of the European Union in Tunisia within the framework of the EU4Youth program and the support of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
