Egypt: YEP MED partners to foster youth employment in the Port sector with the local community

On July 12, 2021, Damietta Port Authority (DPA) and Port Training Institute have signed an institutional agreement with Damietta Port Community for cooperation under the YEP MED Project, co-financed by the EU Programme ENI CBC MED. .

The YEP MED project aims at building the capacities and developing the skills of 582 trainees from Egyptian young men and women, graduates and undergraduates, to improve their opportunity to find a job in the Port sector. The signing of this MoU came as a result of continuous support from H.E the Minister of transport for DPA to participate in this project which is implemented on a Mediterranean level for a period of 3 years.

YEP MED Project promotes integration between the education sector, Technical Vocational and Educational Training (TVET) and career guidance. This should lead to the development of combined approaches that include counselling, mentoring, specialized employment advisory support, entrepreneurship promotion, tailor-made training, and job placements.
