EU Jeel Connectors in Lebanon are taking meaningful steps to bridge the gap between young people and life-changing opportunities supported by the European Union.

In the North of Lebanon, Shella Al Douaihy launched an initiative to familiarise youth with EU-funded opportunities, with a spotlight on the Erasmus+ programme and the European Solidarity Corps. Her session offered an inspiring deep dive into study, exchange, and training possibilities under Erasmus+, while also highlighting volunteering initiatives that foster civic engagement and personal development. By sharing her own journey, success stories, and practical application tips, Shella empowered participants with the tools and motivation to take their first steps towards Europe.

Meanwhile, Maria Roumanos led a thought-provoking initiative at the Lebanese University titled Kitchen of Opportunities: Legal Library. The event brought together 35 students to explore EU-related pathways and key legal topics. The session opened with an introduction to the European Union and the EU Jeel Connect network, followed by a testimonial from fellow Connector Moussa Kabboushi. Two expert-led panels tackled issues in international law and the EU’s role in promoting justice and democracy. The event concluded with closing remarks and the awarding of participation certificates, reinforcing a sense of achievement and purpose among the attendees.

From raising awareness to creating access, these two initiatives are part of a broader effort to connect Lebanese youth to the EU’s diverse educational, legal, and civic opportunities—ensuring no talent is left behind.
