On 11 November, the Ambassador of the European Union to Egypt, Angelina Eichhorst, took part in the closing session of the EU Simulation Model at Assiut University, attended by around 200 students. The event marked the conclusion of a series of interactive sessions designed to help students understand the European Union’s institutions, values, and decision-making processes.
In her remarks, Ambassador Eichhorst spoke about the strategic partnership between the European Union and Egypt, emphasising the importance of education, research, and innovation in strengthening bilateral relations. She encouraged students to seize international opportunities offered by the EU, underlining that: “The world beyond your campus is your next classroom.”
She also highlighted the transformative impact of EU programmes, noting that Erasmus+ “doesn’t just give you a degree — it gives you a global mindset,” while Horizon Europe “helps expand your scientific and innovative horizons.” The Ambassador urged young people to be proactive and apply for EU-supported opportunities in higher education and research, reminding them that such experiences “can truly change your academic journey.”
The EU Simulation Model, implemented in universities across Egypt, aims to foster understanding of the European Union’s work and to strengthen youth engagement in public life through experiential learning and dialogue.
