The SANAD Technical Assistance Facility is sponsoring the German Arab Women Business Leaders event. The first session of this event, “Financing women entrepreneurs during the COVID-19 pandemic” will be held on 27 January from 1 to 3 p.m.

Speakers will address the impact of COVID‐19 on women entrepreneurs and the response from financial institutions to counter the negative impact. The speakers will discuss how women entrepreneurs can unlock their underlying potential and turn the crisis into opportunities instead. The panel will also provide valuable insight into lessons learnt and identify key imperatives for the way forward to capitalize on some structural shifts that the pandemic has presented.

The SANAD Fund was established in 2011 to foster economic development and create jobs, particularly for youth, in the Middle East and North Africa by providing debt and equity funding to local financial institutions that lend money to support MSMEs and housing development. The SANAD Technical Assistance Facility multiplies the fund’s development impact and outreach through capacity-building at partner institutions, developing financial infrastructures according to the principles of responsible finance and conducting much required R&D.
