The legislative drafting process was the topic of a recent study visit to Morocco for five Palestinian officials representing the Council of Ministers and the Legislation and Advisory Bureau, best known as the Diwan. The five-day trip was organised last week by EUPOL COPPS’ Rule of Law Section.

In Rabat, the Palestinian delegation visited the General Secretariat of the Moroccan Government and received briefings on its organisation, competences and method of operation when it comes to the coordination and organisation of the legislative work within the government.

During the visit, the Palestinian delegation was also briefed on the conduct of legal consultations and the translation, documentation and archiving of legal provisions as part of the law-making process.

EUPOL COPPS is the European Union Co-ordinating Office for Palestinian Police Support. The aim of the Mission is to contribute to the establishment of sustainable and effective policing arrangements and to advise Palestinian counterparts on criminal justice and rule of law related aspects under Palestinian ownership.
