On 10 October, the European Union Heads of Mission joined forces with their Palestinian partners in the Governorate of Jericho, a region that continues to face daily challenges yet stands as a symbol of resilience and potential.
The delegation visited Nakheel Palestine, owned by PADICO Holding, and Palestine Gardens, owned by the Sinokrot family, where they witnessed how local producers continue to deliver high-quality dates to European and international markets. These enterprises illustrate how Palestinian agribusinesses are supporting jobs, strengthening the local economy, and maintaining export competitiveness despite difficult conditions.
The visit also included meetings with the Governor, the Mayor, and the President of the Chamber of Commerce, in the presence of representatives of local communities. Discussions focused on the ongoing restrictions imposed by the Israeli authorities, which continue to impact livelihoods and access to basic services, as well as the collective efforts to sustain economic activity in the area.
The EU Heads of Mission reaffirmed the European Union’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian people, promoting sustainable economic development, and fostering resilience and dignity in the face of ongoing challenges.
