To mark the World Day Against Child Labour, the European Commission’s Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development (DEVCO), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) are jointly organising a conference followed by an interactive workshop with the title ‘United to end child labour in agriculture’. These events will be held on 12 June in Brussels, Belgium.

The UN Sustainable Development Goal 8, Target 7, calls for ‘immediate and effective measures to … secure the prohibition and elimination of the worst forms of child labour … and by 2025 end child labour in all its forms.’

The conference panellists and the workshop participants will discuss experiences, share views, explore the potential of building and strengthening partnerships, and formulate recommendations to end child labour in agriculture.
