Today and tomorrow will be held in Rome the 6th Conference Shared Awareness and DE-confliction in the Mediterranean hosted by EUNAVFOR MED/ Operation Sophia and NATO.
The purpose of the meeting is to gather representatives of nations and organisations involved in addressing irregular migration across the Mediterranean Sea, in order to discuss new options for how to move forward in order to de-conflict and coordinate efforts. Thematic Working Groups are foreseen alongside Plenary Sessions.
Shared Awareness and De-confliction in the Mediterranean (SHADE MED) is a forum where representatives from nations and organizations interested in or impacted by the migratory phenomenon in the Mediterranean basin can meet to de-conflict and coordinate their Maritime Security Operations (MSO) by sharing situational awareness, assessment of the evolution of trends and best practices.
