The European Union to facilitate the economic integration of refugees in Morocco

Rabat October 22, 2018. The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), the Moroccan Association of Support to the Promotion of Small Business (AMAPPE), the National Agency for Promotion of Employment and Skills (ANAPEC) and the Office for the Development of Cooperation (ODCO) signed a Convention on Monday, 22 October in Tangier, as part of a project co-financed by the European Union, to facilitate the economic integration of refugees in Morocco. This new partnership, which will allow refugees to benefit from integrated access to the services of these agencies, is an unprecedented step towards the development of entrepreneurship initiatives and cooperatives among refugees in Morocco.

The support to the development of entrepreneurship and cooperative projects among refugees in Morocco has a duration of two years for a total amount of MAD 9 188 362 (€ 828 000) which is co-financed by the European Union (75 %). Other donors contributing to this project are Switzerland, Monaco and Japan.
