EU’s new General Data Protection Regulation and its effects on Israeli exporters

On June 18th 2018, an info session will be organized on the EU’s new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and its effects on Israeli exporters.

The GDPR came into force on 25 May. The European Union is proud to set high data protection standards that are fit for the digital economy. The new rules are good for EU citizens who will be better protected and companies which will benefit from one set of rules across the whole Union as well as for operators in third countries doing business with the EU. As trust is key for the digital economy, strong privacy rules are a comparative advantage.

Israeli firms are very well positioned to take advantage of these new opportunities. The Head of the European Commission’s International Data Flows and Protection Unit is coming to Israel to help Israeli businesses learn how provide GDPR compliant services to Europe.
