The second webinar to be delivered by the UfM Business Development and Employment Division took place on 17 June. As part of the UfM Secretariat’s commitment to contributing to the post-pandemic recovery, the webinar targeted a younger audience and counted on in-house expertise in several fields.

Following the first webinar, “Economic Opportunities and Skills in the Post-Pandemic Horizon: Reasons for Hope”, held on 20 May 2020, the second webinar focused on accessing finance and introducing participants to the funding landscape. With an emphasis on startups and young entrepreneurs, the session equipped participants with a basic funding toolkit to improve their financial literacy and their ability to navigate the complex funding matrix.

Following a brief on the socio-economic impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the UfM Region, Mr. Mohammed Elrazzaz from the UfM Business Development and Employment Division explained the funding landscape and the different categories of funding (debt, equity, mezzanine). He went on to explore various funding instruments and their suitability at different stages of a company’s or a project’s lifecycle.

More webinars reaching out to young professionals and entrepreneurs, fresh grads and university students are scheduled for the coming months.
