On 28 October, the Renewables Working Group (RES WG) convened in Milan to finalise their 2025 report on green electricity trading in the Mediterranean region. The report examines the mechanisms enabling green electricity trading and emphasises the importance of green electricity certifications, as well as the role of stakeholders in the certification process. It also highlights best practices to support green certifications and trading, and provides a roadmap for the implementation of Green Electricity Trading.

Particular attention is given to Guarantees of Origin, a mechanism increasingly recognised as essential for enabling cross-border green electricity trading. This topic will be explored in greater depth during a dedicated joint workshop with Med-TSO the following day. As a next step, the report will be submitted to the General Assembly for approval at the end of November, with its publication expected in the first quarter of 2026.
