The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) Forum on green entrepreneurship held in Amman under the title “Green Entrepreneurship: A Pathway to Sustainable and Inclusive Employment” explored the different ways to promote sustainable employment: the role of technology, digitalization and green skills, how to engage vulnerable groups and the role of policy makers and partnerships (public, private and social partners).
Interreg NEXT MED was represented by Ms. Joumana Sweiss who shared some tips to potential green entrepreneurs on how to ensure fair, sustainable employment: work from a bottom-up approach, identify the real needs of local territories. If your idea is based on real needs, the probability of your project to be funded should be higher.
“Think about the sustainability of your project from day 1 involving the most relevant stakeholders to make sure they adopt your idea.” – Joumana Sweiss
She mentioned the success story of the EU funded project SIRCLES to inspire anyone who wants to launch a project in the circular economy in the Mediterranean region.
The event was organised by the Union for the Mediterranean, DG employment from the European Commission and Business Development Centre (BDC), Jordan. (…)
