Under the patronage of the Minister of Health, H.E. Dr. Firas Al Hawari, and in the presence of the Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Jordan, H.E. Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas, and the Ambassador of Spain to Jordan, H.E. Miguel de Lucas, the inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed Al-Qadisyeh Comprehensive Health Centre took place on February 20. This facility, completed through the REAYAH project, is funded by the European Union through the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), with the aim of significantly enhancing healthcare accessibility for residents across multiple villages in the Tafilah Governorate.

The three-floor health centre, covering an area of approximately 1,462 square meters, is designed to provide a wide range of specialized healthcare services. These include an emergency room, laboratory services, X-ray facilities, maternal and child healthcare, community health clinic services, women’s and pregnancy care, and dental services. The centre has also been equipped with modern medical equipment and advanced laboratory technology, ensuring high-quality care. With a capacity to treat approximately 2,600 patients each month, the centre not only reduces the burden on the nearest hospital, which is 30 km away, but also ensures that vital healthcare services are accessible to the community members who would otherwise face difficulties traveling such distances. Overall, the facility is expected to have 10,000 people from Al-Qadisyeh directly registered and serve up to 30,000 people including from surrounding villages, significantly improving healthcare access for the entire region.
