The European Union is taking the lead globally to protect the planet. The EU is committed to reduce carbon emissions by at least 40% by 2030 and move to a low carbon economy.
Israeli local authorities participate in a number of EU projects which focus on sustainable energy policies and adopt more efficient resource utilization.
Rosh Ha’ayin, Ramle and Shfaram participate in the Cleaner Energy Saving Mediterranean Cities (CES MED) programme, and Kfar Saba, Eilat and other cities in the Triangle region participated in the Sustainable Urban Demonstration Energy Projects.
