Jordan: latest executions “significant setback”, says EU spokesperson

Following the announcement by Jordan of the execution of 15 people convicted for terrorism and other serious crimes, the European Union reiterated its strong opposition to the use of the death penalty in all circumstances.

“This execution is a significant setback, given that Jordan had observed an informal moratorium between 2006 and 2014,” said a statement issued by the EU spokesperson.
