The official launch ceremony of the co-financed phase of the TaqatHy+ project was held on Monday at the headquarters of the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energies (MEMER), bringing together senior representatives from the Ministry, the Delegation of the European Union (EU), the German Embassy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, as well as key actors from the energy sector. On this occasion, the project implementation contract was signed, marking a strengthened commitment to the energy transition in Algeria. With a total budget of €28 million, this new phase has benefited from EU support since February 2025, and complements the €13 million in funding already provided by Germany. Led by MEMER and implemented by GIZ Algeria, TaqatHy+ aims to accelerate the deployment of renewable energies, the development of green hydrogen, and the integration of innovative energy efficiency solutions.
