32 students from 8 private and public schools across Lebanon participated, for the second consecutive year, in a general knowledge competition that took place at ESA Business School early this month. The competition covered such topics as history, geography, art, literature, and sports. The day was a great occasion for students to gain insights into the European Union’s institutions and evolution, as well as into the 27 Member States that make up the Union.

The second edition of the annual Europe Day student competition, organised by the European Union Delegation to Lebanon and attended by various European Ambassadors, also helped shed light on Lebanon’s importance as a neighbor and partner of the European Union, with whom it shares deep cultural and economic ties.

The competition kicked off with students divided into 4 groups of 8, each answering 15 multiple-choice questions, with the winners from each group advancing to the second round. Participating schools this year included: Antelias Public Secondary School, Batroun Public Secondary School, Brummana High School, College Protestant Francais, International College, Saint Joseph School, SSCC Zahle Rassieh, and Wellspring Learning Community.

The event ended with the distribution of awards and a small cocktail reception. Nicolas Tabbah from Brummana High School was declared the winner of the competition after having registered the highest score.
