The Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development and La Sagesse University in Lebanon presented the EU-funded project “Promoting Active Citizenship through Coaching & Training” (PACCT) during an information session held earlier in August in Akkar. The session was attended by representatives of more than 33 civil society organisations (CSOs).

PACCT, implemented in the framework of the AFKAR III programme, aims to improve the internal capacities of 100 locally active CSOs in four Lebanese districts (Akkar, Bekaa, South and Mount Lebanon) to better perform their role in socio-economic development within their region. Local networks between the targeted CSOs, their local authorities and the plethora of donors and private sector will be created.

PACCT will also enable the trained CSOs to put the concepts acquired from the training and coaching into practice through proposal writing and submitting of local community development projects. Grants will be given to selected projects that will be implemented under PACCT. (EU Neighbourhood Info)
