MEDREG Training on “Security of Supply for the Gas and Electricity Markets”

On 19 and 18 June, MEDREG is organising a training for the employees of its regulatory members over two days on “Security of Supply for the Gas and Electricity Markets”.The training’s objective is to enhance the capacity of energy regulators in the Mediterranean region to secure reliable energy supplies. By focusing on key aspects of energy security, the program will provide insights and promote collaboration among participants. Topics will include subjects such as system reliability, supply diversification, storage solutions, demand-side management, and cross-border cooperation.

 

The training will cover essential areas including strengthening the infrastructure, integrating advanced technologies to maintain continuous supply, reducing dependency on single suppliers through regional partnerships and renewable energy sources, leveraging demand-side flexibility to enhance grid stability and efficiency, encouraging investments in gas and electricity storage to balance supply and demand, promoting regional integration to enhance system resilience, protecting critical systems from cyber threats to ensure uninterrupted operations, balancing renewable energy growth with supply reliability, and developing robust plans to address potential disruptions. This training is designed for regulators of the energy sector in the Mediterranean region.
