Morocco : Preparatory audit of maritime authorities carried out under EU-funded SAFEMED IV

A European Maritime Safety Agency team and an experienced International Maritime Organization (IMO) lead auditor have carried out a preparatory audit to Morocco in view of the IMO Member State Audit Scheme (IMSAS). The objective was to support the Maritime Administration of Morocco to prepare for the IMO audit that will be executed in 2022. The activity was carried out on 18-22 march in the framework of the EU funded SAFEMED IV.

The preparatory audit was held at the premises of the Merchant Marine Directorate in Casablanca.

The European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) is implementing SAFEMED IV project for technical assistance bringing together national, European and international stakeholders with the aim to raise the safety, security and protection of marine environment standards in the Mediterranean sea, with a view to implement the maritime aspects of the UfM Regional Transport Action Plan 2014-2020.
