TunisiaPalestine: Head of EU Office for Police Support meets Justice minister
The Head of EUPOL COPPS Mission (EU Co-ordinating Office for Palestinian Police Support) Kauko Aaltomaa met on yesterday the new Palestinian Minister of Justice Mohammad Al-Shalaldeh to discuss ways enhance mutual cooperation.
Mr. Aaltomaa told the new minister that the Mission would maintain its support to all Palestinian criminal justice institutions in order to make progress in the field of the rule of law and human rights.
Mr. Shalaldeh told his guest that President Mahmoud Abbas is keen on developing justice sector and enhancing the rule of law.
EUPOL COPPS Mission has been working with various Palestinian counterparts to further develop the Palestinian judiciary and rule of law. The Mission also provides technical advice and various other programmes to the Palestinian Civil Police since 2006.
