European Union (EU) and Palestinian Authority officials met in Ramallah on Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 March 2016 as part of an annual policy dialogue, which guides the partnership between the EU and Palestine. They “engaged in detailed exchanges on the latest developments and progress achieved in important areas of cooperation between the EU and Palestine”, according to a statement issued by the Office of the European Union Representative in the West Bank and Gaza.
The two-day meeting was dedicated to the work of two separate sub-committees: one on Human Rights, Good Governance, and the Rule of Law; and another on Research, Innovation, Information Society, Education, Youth, Media and Culture. This “demonstrates our continuous and constructive dialogue with the Palestinian Authority”, said EU Representative Ralph Tarraf.
