The European Union in Morocco is participating in the 17th edition of the International Agricultural Show in Morocco (SIAM), which will be held in Meknes from April 21 to 27, 2025. This participation brings together the European Union delegation to Morocco, the Erasmus+ Morocco office, and representatives of the IHYAE rural revitalization program. It is part of the Morocco-EU Green Partnership, which supports the reforms undertaken by the Kingdom in the agricultural and forestry sectors, promoting more resilient, innovative, and inclusive agriculture.

Throughout the week, the European Union will offer a rich program aimed at professionals, the general public, and young people. The Europe Pavilion will highlight the theme: “Existing sustainable solutions to preserve water for the benefit of agricultural stakeholders.” Thematic conferences will address the preservation of natural resources—soils, watersheds, and groundwater—and the recovery of treated wastewater in agriculture. Information sessions will be dedicated to supporting Moroccan operators on new European regulations and opportunities for accessing the European market.

The EU’s presence at SIAM 2025, along with that of many Member States and European companies, reflects the vitality of trade relations between the EU and Morocco. As the EU-Morocco Association Agreement celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, bilateral trade is expected to exceed €60 billion in 2024. The EU accounts for nearly half of Morocco’s imports, nearly two-thirds of its exports, and more than half of foreign investment in Morocco.
