The 8th edition of the “Thysdrus – Roman Days of El Jem” festival will take place on May 10 and 11 with the support of Tounes Wijhetouna

The 8th edition of the “Thysdrus – Roman Days of El Jem” festival will be held on May 10 and 11, 2025, at the Roman amphitheater of El Jem. This cultural event aims to bring the Roman era to life in the ancient city of Thysdrus, through a historical immersion open to all.

Program of festivities:
– Roman military parade – On Saturday, May 10, a procession will depart from the town hall to the amphitheater garden, in the atmosphere of the Roman legions.
– Documentary screening – Focus on the El Jem Museum and heritage preservation.
– Interactive workshops – Mosaics, pottery, Latin calligraphy, coinage, painting, jewelry, and Roman games.
– Craft exhibitions – Works inspired by the Greco-Roman period.
– Roman market – Handicrafts and agricultural products + partner area.

This event is supported by the Tounes Wijhetouna program, funded by the European Union 🇪🇺, to promote Tunisian tourism, crafts, and heritage.
