The Algerian Electricity and Gas Regulatory Commission (CREG) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with its Portuguese counterpart, the Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of energy supervision and regulation. This agreement builds on the initial MoU signed earlier in April between ERSE and the Algerian Hydrocarbons Regulatory Authority (ARH). The signing of this cooperation agreement took place at ERSE’s headquarters in Lisbon, as part of CREG’s study visit to examine ERSE’s mandate, roles, and responsibilities in regulating a rapidly evolving energy sector—one that is increasingly complex and poses challenges that the Algerian market may also encounter in the future.MEDREG welcomes the signature of this MoU, which demonstrates the Association’s capacity to facilitate bilateral cooperation initiatives between its members.
