The Delegation of the European Union will hold a conference on “Special Economic Zones (SEZs) as a tool for attracting investments in Algeria”

As part of the project “Euro-Algerian Partnership for Sustainable Investment”, funded by the European Union, the EU Delegation to Algeria, in partnership with the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), and the Polish Embassy in Algeria, are organizing a conference under the theme: “Special Economic Zones as a tool for attracting investments in Algeria”, on Monday, February 17, 2025 at the Marriottt Hotel (Bab Ezzouar). The meeting will take place in the presence of the Ambassador of the European Union to Algeria, Mr. Diego Mellado, the Director General of AAPI, Mr. Omar Rekkache, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Polish Embassy in Algeria.

 

The conference will explore the potential role of “Special Economic Zones (SEZs)” as a tool for attracting investment in Algeria. It will analyse the challenges and opportunities related to the creation and management of SEZs on a global scale, and assess the applicability of different types of zones in Algeria. Successful international models will be reviewed and concrete recommendations will be proposed for Algeria.
