What happens when small farmers can’t reach markets or get the tools and supplies they need? The PRIMA project RESILINK has just launched a new mobile app that makes it easier than ever for farmers to connect with local resources and buyers, even in challenging times. The app is now available on Google Play. Designed specifically for smallholders, the RESILINK app helps farmers:
The goal is simple: keep farming running smoothly, even when crises make travel or access difficult. By linking farmers to resources in their own communities, the app reduces dependence on distant suppliers and helps make local food systems more resilient.
This achievement is the result of a PRIMA project, a program focused on delivering practical, real-world solutions for communities across the Mediterranean region. PRIMA projects are designed to produce concrete outcomes that are easily accessible and immediately useful for end users, in this case, smallholder farmers. The RESILINK app exemplifies this approach, turning research and innovation into a tool that farmers can use every day to improve efficiency, access, and resilience.
In addition, RESILINK has joined forces with three other PRIMA and EU projects to launch “The Resilient Smallholder Initiative”, officially presented on May 31st, 2024. The initiative brings together PRIMA RESILINK, PRIMA INOVFARMER, PRIMA MED-LINKS, H2020 FAIRCHAIN, and HE EU4ADVICE to collaborate, organize events and webinars, share knowledge, results, and tools aimed at increasing the resilience of smallholder farmers across the agri-food chain. While the initial focus is on the Mediterranean region, the initiative’s activities can be expanded globally.
The RESILINK project is part of the PRIMA program supported by the European Union. The project is coordinated by Congduc Pham (The University of Pau and the Adour Region – UPPA). This project received funding from the Agence Nationale de la Recherche – ANR (France), the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Professional Training – MESRSFC (Morocco), The General Directorate for scientific research and technological development – DGRSDT (Algeria) and the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology – ASRT (Egypt)
