Tunisia: assessing progress of EU support to justice reform

The Sixth Steering Committee of the Support Programme to the justice sector reform of in Tunisia (PARJ) was held in Tunis last Thursday 10 November, under the patronage of Ghazi Jerebi, Tunisian Justice Minister, and Armelle Lidou, Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation in Tunisia.
 
The EU representative presented the progress made under the PARJ programme, particularly with the completion of the infrastructure works. She also announced a third phase of the programme in the formulating process with a provisional amount of EUR 60 million.
 
The EU is the first donor in the sector with an amount of 90 million Dinars, providing plural support that covers 3 twinnings, infrastructure with the renovation of 5 prisons and 4 courts, support to civil society and regional projects.
