The “Heritage 3000” project, promoting the wealth of cultural heritage in Tunisia, and organized by Expertise France in partnership with Tunisia’s Ministry of Cultural Affairs, has announced the publication of an international competition for the reconstruction of Carthage Museum.
Compliant with the UNESCO regulations governing international architectural and urban planning competitions, this competition has been approved by the International Union of Architects (UIA) and the Order of Architects of Tunisia (OAT).
This international competition is an important step on the road to Carthage Museum reopening its doors to the public. The museum will be reconstructed and renovated in connection with the EU-financed Tounes Wijhetouna programme.
Tounes Wijhetouna – تونس وجهتنا (Tunisia, our destination) is designed to boost diversification of Tunisia’s tourism offer through the development of sustainable tourism, support for the crafts and design sector, and the promotion of cultural heritage.
