Two students from the SAFEMED IV project graduated at World Maritime University

The Class of 2020 has graduated from the Malmö Master of Science in Maritime Affairs programme over 31 October and 1 November 2020 at the World Maritime University (WMU).

This year, 2 students from the SAFEMED IV project have graduated as part of the ENP Maritime Scholarship. This is the first time that WMU graduates are funded by the ENP projects. The sponsorship of higher education in officials of EMSA’s beneficiary countries Maritime Administration is a key aspect in ensuring proper implementation, enforcement, and understanding of the International Maritime Convention, as well as a pathway to foster maritime safety, security and pollution prevention and response.

The European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) is implementing the EU-funded SAFEMED IV project with the aim to raise the safety, security and protection of marine environment standards in the Mediterranean sea, with a view to implement the maritime aspects of the UfM Regional Transport Action Plan 2014-2020.
