The Union for the Mediterranean and the European Investment Bank have started working together to bring trainings on the EuroMediterranean multilateral policy frameworks, and EU project financing mechanisms to pilot Mediterranean Universities.
After the signature of a dedicated agreement, the two institutions have opened discussion with three initial pilot universities, bringing for the first time dedicated trainings from the UfM Secretariat and the EIB Institute to Morocco, Egypt and Jordan on fields such as the EU financial architecture for development, the mandate of the UfM and its role in the formulation of policies, and a focus on EIB role and business cycle in the EU architecture.
A first two-day training was held in November at the Euro-Med University of Fès, a flagship UfM-labelled project, involving selected students from the EuroMed Business School and the EuroMed Institute of Political and Juridical Science. In 2023, further pilot trainings are planned to be held at the University of Jordan and Ain-Shams University.
