The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) is launching the first Progress Report on Regional Integration on 27 May 2021 in an online event.

The Report examines five domains of regional integration: trade integration, financial integration, infrastructure integration, movement of people, and research and higher education. It presents key findings and policy recommendations for each of these domains, based on specific performance indicators that can be monitored over time.

The event will hear from representatives of different regional integration processes, free trade areas and intergovernmental political and economic unions, as they share their experiences of promoting regional integration and showcase best practice and success stories that can be adapted and replicated in the Euro-Mediterranean area.

This event will be the first in a series of events dedicated by the UfM to regional integration, and the key recommendations will be used to inform future actions to accelerate and consolidate integration efforts in the UfM region across the five domains.
