The objective of this webinar, organized by the SFS platform (PRIMA, UfM, FAO, and CIHEAM), is to raise awareness and discuss the challenges and opportunities in greening food systems in the Mediterranean region.
The webinar will explore the latest developments in sustainable food production, reducing food waste and losses, sustainable food consumption, the role of innovative technologies in promoting sustainable agriculture practices in the region. Transitioning towards more sustainable food systems requires a transformation of the entire food system, from production to consumption. This includes reducing food waste and losses, improving the efficiency of food supply chains, and promoting healthy and sustainable diets. Sustainable agricultural practices, such as conservation agriculture, agroforestry, and precision farming, can help to reduce the environmental impact of agriculture while increasing productivity and improving livelihoods.
