The EU and the European National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) have joined ten Palestinian and European artists to celebrate the conclusion of the artistic initiative “when walls talk” at the Ottoman Court building in Ramallah.

‘Rethink Palestine’ is an artistic initiative bringing together Palestinian and European artists to share knowledge and exchange experiences against the background of life in the West Bank and Gaza.

The “When Walls Talk” workshop took place in different cities across the West Bank in the course of a week and resulted in eight art works. In addition four works were produced by Palestinian artists in Gaza.

“Graffiti art is particularly associated with Palestine and with traditions of public protest and expression,” said the Deputy EU Representative David Geer. “In this case, European and Palestinian artists have worked together to express shared experiences of justice and forgiveness, bereavement and hope,” he added.
