The EU Delegation to The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is seeking to recruit a Translator / Interpreter. To work under the direct supervision of the Head of Delegation to ensure the translation English-Arabic of key texts to guarantee the ability of the Delegation to communicate mostly in written Arabic. The translator also contributes to the information activities of the Delegation. Under this job function the successful candidate will serve as support staff to the following tasks:
+ TRANSLATION – Translator

Translate documents from Arabic into English and vice versa.

Act as interpreter when needed.

Translate press releases/statements issued by the Delegation and/or EU HQs into Arabic.

Oversee the production of the Delegation’s publications in Arabic on its various production stages; contribute in producing information material on Delegation’s activities.

Provide support for Administration section in drafting of and/or reviewing drafts prepared by this Section.

Contribute to the reporting requirements of the Delegation.

Act as backup to the Press and Information Officer (PIO) when the PIO is absent.

When needed, follow the Jordanian local press and help prepare the daily press reviews on issues of interest to the EU.

When needed, help producing press releases on specific topics of interest to the Delegation activities.

When needed, assist in organizing events related to EU funded projects and press conferences.
