Mediterranean Youth in Action (MYA)
In accordance with the provisions of the 2022 Action Plan part I in favour of the Regional South Neighbourhood, the overall objective of MYA is to encourage political participation among young people, bridge the gap between generations, and promote active citizenship in the Mediterranean region. The program aims to engage young individuals through various activities and empower them as agents of positive change and responsible leaders.
Objectives
MYA is guided by policies relevant to youth inclusion in the Euro-Mediterranean region, with three main specific objectives:
- Empowering young leaders to shape public policy, influence decision-makers, shape media narratives and outreach civil society with academia (WP1.1. Voicing Youth Knowledge; WP.1.2. Intercultural Stakeholders’ Dialogues);
- Empowering young leaders to implement transformative initiatives through participatory approaches (WP.2.1. Transformative Youth; WP.2.2. Shaping Transformative Narratives);
- Empowering young leaders to coordinate, monitor and identify solutions with peers across the Mediterranean (WP.3.1. Youth Board and Alumni Scheme; WP.3.2. Youth Speak Up).
