SWAM Akkar

The project aims to contribute to the development and implementation of a sustainable waste management model at urban level. The action will introduce a participatory waste management plan, mitigate municipal solid waste pollution in all municipalities, and generate awareness and increased sensitivity on the subject of municipal waste management, treatment and recycling in communities, from authorities to local workers.

Objectives

Increased awareness among the population will be achieved through awareness-raising activities aimed at students and teachers, and through a door-to-door campaign reaching out to individuals and involving women in particular.
