Palestinian women, wherever they may be, have suffered and endured many hardships – often with great courage and resilience. In this episode of #SheTalks, host Amani Geha highlights the achievements of exceptional Palestinian women against all odds by exploring how they have adapted to unusually challenging circumstances. How do they nurture their creativity?
How do they turn challenges into opportunities, how do they achieve financial independence and become entrepreneurs even within the constraining environment of a refugee camp or hostile environment? And most importantly: is the financial independence of Palestinian women the key to a different horizon?
Many questions are answered by guests in this episode: Leila Kaissi, former director of the relief and social services programme at UNRWA and now Executive Director of the Women’s Programmes Association; and Maryam Bahij, a young Palestinian female entrepreneur in North Lebanon.
