I’m Ali, also known as Alexander, a Pharmacy student in the coastal city of Latakia and a passionate advocate for youth empowerment and social impact. Currently, I serve as an Extracurricular Advisor with Syrian Youth Empowerment (SYE), where I mentor students and guide them in finding meaningful extracurricular activities, helping them pursue educational opportunities abroad. I’m also a Content Creator for UNDP Accelerator Labs, focusing on documenting and showcasing innovative local solutions to social challenges in Syria, highlighting the resilience and creativity within communities.
In addition, I am the Project Coordinator for Masaha Foundation’s Syrian Identity Blogs project, where I write and oversee content that fosters dialogue and a deeper understanding of Syrian identity, citizenship, and youth-led initiatives.
Last year, I also co-founded CosmoEnglish under the IECD/UNFPA, an initiative that supports upper-intermediate English learners through peer education, focusing on arts, culture, and sustainability.
My work is driven by a strong belief in the power of education, storytelling, and social entrepreneurship to create lasting positive change in communities, and translate my belonging to my city into action.
